The competition center is located in the farming lands in the middle of the Kattenbos forest. It offers splendid views to the newly renovated Leyssensmolen to the east. Modern wind turbines to the west offer a sharp contrast. Spectators and competitors are unlikely to notice though, as runners passing through the arena will attract all the attention.
In case of bad weather, please bring club tents. Hamok will make sure the bar is covered.

Sign posting starts on the N746 Lommel-Leopoldsburg in Kattenbos. Do not use your GPS to drive to the Zandstraat as this will lead you through the competition area. Parking guards will instruct you where to park your car. Walking distance from parking area to CC ranges from 400 to 1000m. The forests along the route are competition area. Keep it fair.
Competitors coming from Hechtel should avoid driving to Leopoldsburg as that connection is closed due to the Sanicole Airshow. Take the N74/N71 instead.
Passing through the open area in the southern part of the map ('Kattenbosser Heide') is strictly forbidden for competitors. There are 2 paths through it in both the N-S and E-W directions. You are allowed to use them.
Elite classes cross the N746 during their race. Official guards stop all traffic when a runner arrives at the crossing. Please follow their instructions carefully. A control will lead runners to the crossing. Don't forget to punch it. Crossing the road in other locations is strictly forbidden.
Special trees are marked with a green x on the map. A black x is a root stock.
Challenging sand dune orienteering is what can be expected. Keep your speed high in the open forest, but don't let your attention drop in zones with limited visibility. Conserve energy by making a detour through the dense path network or stick to the line and fight the terrain.
